Healthy appetizers with Balinese hummus

These healthy vegetables are an explosion of color and the Balinese hummus dip gives it lots op flavor! Give your regular homemade hummus a spicy twist with the Bali spice paste.

Shopping list

  • Samasaya Bali spice paste : 2 tbsp
  • Canned chickpeas : 400 g
  • Olive/ coconut oil : 2 tbsp
  • Salt : a pinch
  • Garlic : 1 clove
  • Coconut yoghurt : 100 g
  • Lime : 1
  • Fresh cilantro : 15 g
  • Red pepper : 1
  • Fried onions : to garnish

Vegetables to dip with; cucumber, bell pepper, reddish, carrot and  Samasaya krupuk

Grab a drink and relax, we are going to make a delicious Indonesian dip!

Step 1: Rinse the chickpeas and drain. Clean the garlic and chop it small. Grate and squeeze the lime.

Step 2: Use a blender. Combine the Samasaya spice paste, chickpeas, olive oil, garlic, yogurt and lime zest and juice and mix until smooth. Too firm? Add some extra olive oil.

Step 3: Cut the pepper into small rings and coarsely chop the cilantro. Transfer the Bali hummus to a container and garnish with the pepper, coriander and fried onions. Serve with vegetables and krupuk for dipping.
