Herbal kecap salmon with noodles

A light dinner for 2 to 3 people. The pickled cucumber brings out the spicy flavor of the salmon even more!

Shopping list

For 2-3 people

  • Salmon fillet : 300 g
  • Samasaya Herbal Kecap spice paste : 1 sachet
  • Samasaya Fine noodles : 1 package
  • Cucumber: 1
  • Sugar : 1 tbls
  • Chili flakes (or a 1/2 red pepper) : 1 tsp
  • Vinegar : 50 ml
  • Spring onion : 1
  • Samasaya Opak Pedis

Grab a drink and relax, we are going to cook a delicious Indonesian cuisine!

Step 1: Cut the cucumber in half, remove the seeds and cut into moon shaped pieces. In a saucepan, combine the vinegar, sugar, chili flakes and a pinch of salt. Heat until the sugar is dissolved. Pour the hot mixture over the cucumber and let it rest in the refrigerator until served.

Step 2: Cut the salmon fillet into pieces. Set aside 1 large tablespoon of the  spice paste, and the rest in a bowl with the salmon. Cover and refrigerate for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, soak some wooden skewers in water.

Step 3: Cut the spring onion into rings. Cook the noodles according to the preparation method on the package. String the salmon cubes on the skewers.

Step 4: Grill the salmon until the outside turns crispy and brown. Rinse the noodles and mix them with the leftover tablespoon of betawi spice paste. Optionally add some fresh pepper or chili flakes for extra spice.

Step 5: Serve the noodles with the salmon and the pickled cucumber. Garnish with the spring onion.
