Think outside the box when using one of the Samasaya spice pastes. You can not only easily marinate your meat in it, it can also add extra flavor to grilled veggies or spice up a simple salad to give it an Indonesian touch.

Step 1: Mix the Kecap spice paste with the (vegetarian) chicken cubes and let it marinate for 15 minutes.
Step 2: Cut the spring onion into rings. Shell the green beans and cook until al dente. Halve the cucumber, remove the seeds and cut into half moons. Cut the carrots into strips.
Step 3: Heat some oil in a pan and fry the marinated (vegetarian) chicken.
Step 4: Mix the lettuce with the carrot, cucumber and green beans and place on a big plate. Divide the fried chicken on top. Sprinkle with some roughly chopped cashew nuts and spring onion rings. Finish with a drizzle of olive oil and you are ready to eat!
Serve with the krupuk of your choice and some sateh sauce.
