Step 1: Halve the tempeh slice lengthwise and then cut into triangular cubes. Put the triangles in a bowl and mix with the kecap spice paste. Set aside for 20 minutes.
Step 2: In a dry frying pan, toast the coconut flakes until they are light brown. Make sure they don’t burn.
Step 3: Heat a generous layer of oil in a saucepan. Finely chop the chives.
Step 4: Fry the tempeh triangles in the oil until they are golden brown. This will take approximately 5-7 minutes.
Step 5: Garnish with the toasted coconut flakes and fresh chives.
