Soto Soup

One of our favorite soups is this Indonesian Soto. You can vary with the ingredients, to make the soup completely to your own taste. The powerful, but mild spice paste, makes this dish suitable for the whole family.

Shopping list

for 2 people

  • Samasaya lemongrass noodles : 250g
  • Eggs : 2
  • Chicken breast, diced : 250g
  • Taugé : 125g
  • Spring onion, cut into rings: 2
  • Baked onions


Optional: Lime, Samasaya Emping Melindjo, Samasaya sambal of choice


take a drink and relax, we are going to make a delicious Indonesian soup!

Step 1: Cook the noodles according to the preparation method on the package and set aside.

Step 2: Boil the eggs  and set aside.

 Step 3: Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a soup pan and fry the spice paste for 1 minute.

Step 4: Add 800 ml of water, bring to a boil and stir well.

Step 5: Add the chicken and cook over low heat in the broth.

Step 6: Pour boiling in the meantime water over the bean sprouts, rinse cold and set aside

Step 7: Cut the eggs into 4 parts and divide the spring onions, bean sprouts and noodles into ¾ soup bowls

Step 8: Divide the soup over the bowls. Garnish with fried onions and a slice of lime.
