Tofu omelet with spicy sateh sauce

The ideal recipe for a nutritious lunch or small meal!

Shopping list

  • Tofu (tahoe): 175 g
  • Eggs: 3
  • Salt: pinch
  • Garlic powder: 1/2 tsp
  • White ground pepper: 1/2 tsp
  • Sunflower oil: 2 tbsp
  • Cucumber: 1/3
  • Bean sprouts: 50 g
  • Celery root: 20 g
  • Samasaya ketjap manis: 1 to 2 tbsp
  • Red onion or fried onions: to garnish
  • Samasaya sateh sauce spicy: 1 pot

Preparation method

Take a drink and relax, we are going to cook a delicious Indonesian meal!

Step 1: Drain the tofu before use.

Step 2: Cut the tofu into 1 cm cubes. Beat the eggs with the garlic powder, salt and white pepper.

Step 3: Cut the cucumber lengthwise, remove the seeds and cut in moons. Wash and drain the bean sprouts. Finely chop the celery leaves. Optional: Chop half a red onion.

Step 4: Heat the oil in the frying pan and fry the tofu cubes until they are light brown. Then add the beaten eggs.

Step 5: Make sure the omelet is firm enough when you turn it around. Do this possibly with the help of a plate or lid. If the omelet is nicely browned on both sides, scoop the omelet onto a plate.

Step 6: Heat the Samasaya sateh sauce. Divide the sliced ​​cucumber, bean sprouts and satay sauce over the omelet. Then sprinkle with some Samasaya ketjap manis to taste. Finally, garnish with the sliced ​​celery, red onion and / or fried onions.
