Vegetarian soto ajam

A traditional soto ajam with a vegetarian twist. Packed with spice, crunchy vegetables and Indonesian flavors. Serve with a soft-boiled egg and enjoy!

Shopping list

  • Samasaya Soto spice paste sachet : 1
  • Samasaya fine noodles : 1
  • Vegetarian chicken : 1 package
  • Kecap sauce : 3 tbsp
  • Eggs : 2
  • Spring onion : 3
  • Tauge : 150 g
  • Edemame beans : 150 g
  • Cucumber : 1/2
  • Fried onion : to garnish
  • Sprouts : to garnish

Grab a drink and relax, we are going to cook a delicious Indonesian cuisine!

Step 1: Cook the noodles according to the preparation method on the package and set aside. Boil the eggs, scare and set aside as well.

Step 2: Heat 1 tbsp oil in a stockpot and fry the spice paste for 1 minute. Add 800ml water, bring to a boil and stir well. Fry the vegetarian chicken pieces in a frying pan with 2 tbsp oil and the kecap sauce until they turn golden.

Step 3: Meanwhile, pour boiling water over the bean sprouts, rinse cold and set aside. Cut the spring onion into rings, remove the seeds from the cucumber and cut into half moons. Cut the eggs in half.

Step 4: Divide the noodles and stock among 3 bowls. Garnish with the vegetarian chicken, spring onion, cucumber, bean sprouts, edamame and eggs. Garnish with the fried onions and sprouts.
